What works with what
PS5, Xbox, PC, Switch, mobile — most pairs are supported now. Even the historic PS-vs-Xbox cold war is mostly thawed.
Each game has its own crossplay status. Check the title's website if unsure.
Games that crossplay well
Fortnite, Apex Legends, Call of Duty Warzone, Rocket League, Minecraft (Bedrock edition), Marvel Rivals, Helldivers 2.
Each has a crossplay toggle in settings. Enable. Friend codes or platform-agnostic accounts (Activision ID, Epic ID) tie players together.
PC players have aim assist debates
Some games (Apex, Warzone) give controller players aim assist by default. PC mouse/keyboard players sometimes complain about that.
Most games let you matchmake with input-type filters. Check the game's competitive settings if you care about fairness.
People also ask
Do I need PS Plus / Xbox Live?+
For most PvP multiplayer games, yes. Crossplay doesn't change platform subscription requirements. PC and Switch don't need a subscription.
Can I share progress across platforms?+
Most games sync via account: same Activision/Epic/EA login = same loadouts. Some games don't support this; check before buying twice.
What if my friend's game disconnects mine?+
Make sure crossplay is on for both. Some platforms had crossplay opt-out by default years ago — check both ends.
